Our online collection features our curated inventory from our Cape Cod (MA) location from April 15th through November 30th each year.     Originally published in the U.S. in 1926 with a print run of 1,250 copies. Housed in a new facsimile dust jacket. Hardcover is in Very Good condition. Former bookstore stamp on front/back flyleaf, otherwise, no writing or otheir markings found in the book, 143 pp. 



      DEATH IN THE AFTERNOON


      Ernest Hemingway. First edition, first printing. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. 


      Has both the Scribner seal and "A" on the copyright page. Both unclipped dust jacket and hardcover are in Very Good and Very Good+ condition respectively. This scarce original, first state, dust jacket, is in a mylar protective wrapper, and has the original price $3.50 on the inside flap.         Ernest Hemingway. First U.K. edition, first printing. London: Collins, 1970. Both unclipped dust jacket (in a Mylar wrapper) and hardcover are in Near Fine condition. No writing or markings found in this copy, 308 pp., which by the way, is the best preserved edition we've come across to date!

          Edited by William White. First edition. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1967. Has the "A" on the copyright page (A-3.67) denoting Scribner's first edition. Both unclipped dust jacket, in a mylar wrapper, and hardcover are in Near Fine condition. No writing or markings, other than a former owner, small stamp on title page, found in the book, 489 pp.

Blue cloth with marlin vignette to upper cover. No writing or markings found in the book, 83 pp. Limited to 1000 copies, originally published in Holiday magazine in 1949. This is the first hardback edition with an introduction by Gabrial Garcia Marquez. Laid in book review. 

            Marlin! is a book about Hemingway's deep sea fishing adventures.


              FITZGERALD AND HEMINGWAY: A DANGEROUS FRIENDSHIP


              Matthew J. Bruccoli. First U.K. edition. London: Andre' Deutsch, 1995. Both unclipped dust jacket and hardcover are in Near Fine condition. No writing or markings founds in the book, 236 pp. 

              Story of the complex and progressively tenuous friendship between Fitzgerald and Hemingway, from their first meeting in Paris to Fitzgerald's death, with previously unreleased letters from Hemingway to Fitzgerald and Hemingway letters about Fitzgerald.

                    Contains short stories from some the best writers of that generation, including Ernest Hemingway's, The Undefeated.

                        Louis Henry Cohn. First edition. Minature booklet with sleeve. Bradenton, FL: Opiscula Press, 1991. In Near Fine condition. No writing or markings in the booklet.

                        Contains a beautiful 25 cent Ernest Hemingway postage stamp. 

                        • Issued four days before Hemingway’s 90thbirthday.
                        • Portrait based on a 1957 photo of Hemingway; background depicts running antelope to represent his stories of African hunting.
                        • 7th stamp in Literary Arts Series.

                          DANGEROUS FRIENDS: AT LARGE WITH HEMINGWAY AND HUSTON IN THE FIFTIES


                          Peter Viertel. Stated first edition, first printing. New York: Doubleday, 1992. Both unclipped dust jacket and hardcover are in Near Fine condition. No writing or markings in the book, which looks like new 406 pp.


                          The book looks at the relationship with Hemingway and Huston. Viertel,  an aspiring screenwriter, describes how both men influenced him, Hemingway's tendency toward self-caricature, Huston's self-absorption, and more.
