W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN CO

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN CO: ZEPHYR

Designed for horse riding & upland bird hunting, the Zephyr was the original zipper-back moccasin. A solid brass YKK zipper above the heel provides added on-and-off speed and permits snug fit around the leg. Over the last 75 years the Zephyr has been colloquially known as the "Plantation Boot" due to it's extensive use by hunting guides and farmers across wildlife preserves in the Southeast.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN CO: BACKCOUNTRY

Made from the original Russell Bird Shooter patterns, the Backcountry's lineage is that of the most accomplished boot in American history. Wiley Post became the first person to fly to the stratosphere in a pair and Earl Shaffer wore his for over 2000 miles, becoming the first man to complete the Appalachian Trail. Both of these pairs are now housed by the Smithsonian Museum.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN CO: FORESTER

Prior to 1898, the company which became Russell Moccasin (the Wright Shoe Company) specialized in logging boots during Wisconsin's 1800s timber boom. To this day, a significant group of Russell customers make their living working in the woods. They are wildlife biologists, timber cruisers, DNR officers, and foresters. To better serve these customers, we have created a special variant of the original Bird Shooter model.

W.C. MOCCASIN CO: EXPEDITION BOOT

Bruce Chatwin was one of the great travel writers of the 20th century.

We don’t know when Bruce purchased his first pair of Russells, but he used them almost exclusively for his travels and expeditions. Bruce owned a pair of 9" Bird Shooters and an iconic pair of customized Safaris. Our team has put together a modern version of Bruce’s pair that has several upgrades to make them even more capable.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN CO:  GUSTIN BIRD SHOOTER

The Bird Shooter is made with our famous Double Vamp Moccasin construction. You can learn more about this unique two-layer moccasin construction on our Process page. The entire boot is leather lined for support and added water-resistance. The Gustin is 9" tall with Army Studs, top eyelet, and a pull loop. A hand-molded oak leather heel counter makes the boot lock onto your foot for ultimate control and stability.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN: JOE'S PH

Named after the experienced trackers who guide dangerous game hunts, the Russell PH series boots have been stalking the plains of Africa and Australia for over 40 years. An excellent boot for warm weather situations in any country, the PH is the go-to boot for hunters and guides on safari. Breathable, packable, and extremely durable, the PH is a unique boot that is equally suited for daily wear.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN: ONEIDA MOCCASIN

During WWI the Oneida was purchased by the U.S. Army for the workers building airships. The smooth but tough molded leather outsoles were essential to prevent tears in the fragile fabric skin and the leather sole provided protection while maintaining excellent ground-feel.

Today Oneida is a wonderful driving moccasin, and perfect for field situtations where silent stalking is necessary.  After a day in the field, it is the go-to comfort shoe for camp wear!

W.C. RUSSELL: SPORTING CLAYS CHUKKA

Providing support and comfort while shooting a round of sporting clays, the Sporting Clays Chukka fills that "what-should-I-wear" gap between a shoe and a boot.

The Chukka platform is an ideal starting point for a shoe meant for outdoor use as it is plenty tall to keep dust and leaves out of your socks, but still short enough to make lacing a breeze.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN: FISHING OXFORD

For a lightweight shoe that can transition between seasons and occasions with ease, look no further than the Russell Fishing Oxford. A classic of the Russell line, the Fishing Oxford has been the travel, walking & canoeing shoe for the well heeled sportsman since the 1960s. Lower cut & securely laced, the Fishing Oxford is versatile as a daily wear shoe for all seasons.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN:  TRAVELING SPORTSMAN

Made from water-resistant, full-grain Walnut Timberjack leather, the Travelling Sportsman Chukka is prepared for any adventure. Made as a Double Vamp moccasin the Travelling Sportsman is incredibly water resistant and durable. Unique to Russell Moccasin, this Chukka has a handsewn Overlap seam that provides unmatched structure and water resistance.

W.C. RUSSELL MOCCASIN: BIG CAMBO BOOT

Cam Smith is an long-time customer who has ordered Russell boots to guide Elk hunts in the the Rocky Mountains. The Big Cambo variant caught on with serious outdoorsmen and it's one of our most popular boots. The boot is 7-inches high, constructed in a Double Vamp with a Molded Sole configuration for maximum support and water resistance. The boot features a 1-1/2” padded collar to keep out debris, heel counters for support, and Poron sock liners for comfort.
